Wish I knew of a utility that could provide a hotkey to disable scrolling when this situation arises. I've learned to live with that, but honestly, it's pretty bad. The map zooms wildly in and out with the slightest touch of the mouse. I find it's very difficult to use that with the MM. One other annoying drawback is that Google maps uses mouse scrolling to zoom the map. The way my brain is wired, a mouse is not a keyboard. I was never a fan of a mouse with buttons all over the place. Also, some people like extra buttons that the MM lacks. This has never been a problem for me, but it drives some people bonkers. You have to lift the index finger slightly. Some people have a problem with right-clicks, because you cannot rest two fingers on the mouse to do it. Another feature I love is the 2 fingered side swipe to switch between desktops. Also scrolls great horizontally, which is nice for looking at photos and anything larger than the screen. Scroll wheels feel so old and clumsy to me now that I'm used to the touch pad style scrolling of the MM. I'll represent the Magic Mouse fans here. Most major input accessory manufacturers work with Apple stuff out of the box, so I'd find what you are most comfortable with and stick with that to be honest.

The Logitech products mostly work out of the box, but sometimes you can increase functionality with additional software (though you sometimes need to be careful with major OS upgrades as they might not always be compatible). I'd recommend trying it out for a little bit longer if you can before making the decision. However, I think Logitech in general has far superior ergonomics and long-term comfort in continuous use on most of its products. The main thing I noticed was that it you kind of have to 'float' over it a bit rather than letting your hand sit on it and contour to it. Took a little while to get used to the lower profile and reduced ergonomics of the Magic Mouse but I've grown used to it now. Couldn't stand it and traded it in for the Magic Mouse. Then I had the Magic Trackpad that came with a new iMac. I originally used a Logitech MX 500 that I loved (10+ years of use with no signs of failure).
